Lei Nishiuwatoko
Federal Funding Research Assistant

Lei has been involved with the Global Center for Climate Justice and the Northeastern Environmental Justice Research Collaborative as a Research Assistant. She has assisted the development of “A Green New Deal for Boston” report, as well as the “Voting for Climate Justice” report. Lei is Japanese and grew up in Thailand and California, leading to her studies in international affairs. She is interested in how multilateral institutions, and international law and norms, can advance the fight for climate justice. She has travelled to around 20 countries, and her favorite area is South East Asia. She enjoys travelling, philosophical discussions, and finding new music in her free time.
